Summary

A small area of elongated banked fields are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the northweast of Crawford Bridge, Shapwick. They are considered likely to be medieval strip fields or post medieval drainage features. They are still extant and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A small area of elongated banked fields are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs [1] to the northweast of Crawford Bridge, Shapwick. They are considered likely to be medieval strip fields or post medieval drainage features. They are still extant [2] and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
