Summary

An extensive area of parallel cultivation marks is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs straddling the boundary between Tarrant Crawford and Shapwick. It is partially visible on recent lidar imagery and is considered to be medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

An extensive area of parallel cultivation marks is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs straddling the boundary between Tarrant Crawford and Shapwick [1-2] . It is partially visible on recent lidar imagery [3] and is considered to be medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
