Summary

A large post medieval chalk pit with surrounding doughnut of spoil is visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery in a field to the southeast of South Farm, Spetisbury. It is associated with a number of other smaller hollows also considered to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Projects.

A large post medieval chalk pit with surrounding doughnut of spoil is visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery in a field to the southeast of South Farm, Spetisbury (1). It is associated with a number of other smaller hollows also considered to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Projects.
