Summary

A bank and ditched field system of medieval or post medieval date is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of the River Stour at Shapwick. In places it is associated with parallel linears which are likely to be drainage ditches. The system was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A bank and ditched field system of medieval or post medieval date is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of the River Stour at Shapwick. In places it is associated with parallel linears which are likely to be drainage ditches. The system was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project, it covers an area of approximately 32 hectares.
