Full Description

A small ring ditch, part of a closely spaced linear group, is visible as cropmarks on air photographs taken July 25th 2001. Circa 8 metres in diameter, it is defined by a narrow, and presumably shallow, ditch, represented by a relatively faint cropmark. It lies just 2 metres northeast of penannular ring ditch ST 90 SW 126 and just 2 metres southwest of ring ditch ST 90 SW 128. Both these are substantially larger, and there is a possibility that the small ring ditch has been inserted into the space between them at a later date. (1)

A small ring ditch, 7m across, is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the north west of Swan Way Copse, Shapwick (1). It is potentially the site of a Bronze Age round barrow and is located between barrows MDO37338 and MDO37339. It forms part of a wider barrow cemetery which includes those described in MDO 37337-9 and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
