‘Ten ring ditches were noted (Fig. 2, R1-R10). … Group R2-R8, with an outlier at R9, is in all probability a previously unrecorded barrow cemetery located on the northern end of the low hill to the south of the modern village. This group, taken in conjunction with the previously-recorded barrows and ring ditches (RCHME 1970), strongly suggests Bronze Age activity in the immediate vicinity of the transcript area.’
