Monument record MDO43996 - Later prehistoric field system, Abbeycroft Down, Witchampton

A rectilinear bank and ditched field system is visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on Abbeycroft Down, Witchampton. It is considered likely to be later prehistoric (or medieval) in date and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Recent aerial photography reveals the cropmarks of a number of linear features, possibly fragments of field boundaries of uncertain date, visible in an area bounded by ST 954 047, ST 955 048, ST 956 052 and ST 953 048. <1>
