Full Description
Netherstoke (ST 5409) a manor and small hamlet granted to the church of Sherborne according to a Papal Bull of 1145. In 1303 the grant was confirmed with a chapel. At the Dissolution it was granted to the Fermours. <1>
No evidence of medieval depopulation was found in the area of Netherstoke nor was the site of the alleged chapel located. The Tithe Map and Award was consulted without success. The chapel may have been a chapel of ease to Halstock. <2>
