Summary

The possible site of a double-ditched oval enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the east of High Wood, Pamphill. It is probably of later prehistoric date and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project.

Full Description

Cropmarks representing a possible oval or circular enclosure are visible on air photographs taken 15 April 2002. The cropmarks comprise two arcs of paired ditch which may represent parts of the circuit of a bivallate enclosure. <1>

The possible site of a double-ditched oval enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the east of High Wood, Pamphill <2>. The feature comprises two arcs of paired ditches possibly forming the northwest and southeast sides of an oval enclosure sub-rectangular, 55m across. It is likely to be of later prehistoric date and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project.
