Summary

An evaluation in 2021 of a site proposed for housing revealed a number of drainage ditches from post-medieval or later, a 19th or 20th century field boundary.

Full Description

Trench 10; excavated to a maximum depth of 0.4m revealed a ditch believed to be former boundary of post medieval date. A gully was also recorded but no datable evidence was recorded.

Trench 12; excavated to a maximum depth of 0.35m. Four undatable linear features were revealed, some of which are likely to be associated with drainage and of probable post-medieval or later date.

Trench 13; excavated to a maximum depth of 0.4m revealing an undatable feature considered to be a drainage channel and a ditch representing a former boundary of post medieval or later date.

Trench 15; a slight earthwork running across the site was recorded as a post-medieval boundary ditch.
