Summary

A subcircular hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project. It lies within a close group of cropmark ring ditches and possible mounds which together may form a Bronze Age barrow cemetery. The feature is likely to be a post medieval chalk pit but an earlier origin cannot be ruled out.

Full Description

The possible site of circular mound is visible as a cropmarks on aerial photographs and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project (1). It is 12m across and one of a close group of cropmark ring ditches and possible mounds which together may form a Bronze Age barrow cemetery.
