Full Description

A Post Medieval water channel is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <1>. It is centred at ST 9467 0867, extends for nearly 500m, between ST 9461 0890 and ST 9461 0845, and is roughly parallel to and between 45m and 85m east of the river Tarrant. The water channel feeds the main carrier drain for a Post Medieval water meadow system situated to the south (see ST 90 NW 143 / UID: 1478946). Several linear water channels and drains extend perpendicularly or diagonally between the water channel and the river, although much of this area is flooded on the available aerial photographs and this flood water may obscure features such as further water meadows. <2>
