Full Description
A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs. The site is centred at ST 9339 1037 and is suggested by a light coloured oval macula which measures 22m long by a maximum of 16m wide and is orientated east / west. It is probably the plough levelled remains of the chalk mound of a Bronze Age round barrow. There is no sign of any surrounding ditch or internal feature such as a funerary deposit. <1>
A possible Bronze Age barrow approximately 525m southeast of Manor Farm, Tarrant Hinton is visible as a semi-circular soilmark c 23m long by 7m wide on an aerial photograph dated 1982 <1>, suggesting it may be a significantly ploughed out chalk mound. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
