Summary

A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The site is defined by a single ring ditch which encloses a circular area measuring circa 13m in diameter. Total diameter is approximately 17m. Its shape and size suggest that it is probably the plough levelled remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. There is no sign of any internal mound or internal feature such as a funerary deposit. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M project.

Full Description

A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The site is centred at ST 9362 0985 and is defined by a single ring ditch which encloses a circular area measuring circa 13m in diameter. Its shape and size suggest that it is probably the plough levelled remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, several of which are known in this area. There is no sign of any internal mound or internal feature such as a funerary deposit. <1, 1.1>

A probable Bronze Age barrow is visible c 250m to the northwest of Dairy Farm, Tarrant Launceston, as a circular annular cropmark c17m in diameter on an aerial photograph dated 1976 <1, 1.1>. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M project.
