Summary

A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs. The site is suggested by a light coloured sub-circular soilmark which measures 23m in diameter. It is probably the plough levelled remains of the chalk mound of a Bronze Age round barrow. There is no sign of any surrounding ditch or internal feature such as a funerary deposit. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M project.

Full Description

A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs. The site is centred at ST 9359 1015 and is suggested by a light coloured circular macula which measures 16m in diameter. It is probably the plough levelled remains of the chalk mound of a Bronze Age round barrow, several of which are known in this area. There is no sign of any surrounding ditch or internal feature such as a funerary deposit. <1, 1.1>

A probable Bronze Age barrow is visible c 485m to the northwest of Dairy Farm, Tarrant Launceston, as a sub-circular soilmark c23m in diameter on an aerial photograph dated 1995 <2>. It is located adjacent to a further probable barrow MDO43793. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M project.
