Probable Romano British occupation site consisting of pits and a well. Finds include an Iron spear head, pottery and animal bones.

Full Description

Whilst preparing the ground for a large plantation on the estate of Charlton Manor, two miles from the village, two pits were found containing a quantity of Roman or Romano-British sherds. <2>

No information was obtained during field investigation that would more closely locate this site of Romano-British occupation. (See ST 80 SE 27). <3>
