Full Description
(ST 656 148. North Wootton. DMV sited to North Wootton from OS 10000 1983) North Wootton, probable site of DMV The Old Church (ST 61 SE 1) of North Wootton, of which only the West tower remains, stands some 400 yards North of its modern replacement, and settlement remains are visible around it. <1>
Scarps and banks forming scattered square and rectangular platforms and enclosures are visible in the grass covered fields to the north west and south of the church centred ST 65481482. These suggest probable Medieval desertion. The area faces south with an adequate water supply. <2>
