Monument record MDO43326 - Prehistoric enclosure north east of Silverlake Farm, Castleton

The cropmarks of roughly rectangular enclosure can be seen on aerial photographs. Of uncertain date, but possibly late prehistoric. The enclosure is visible on aerial photographs taken in June 2015. Additional linear ditched features in the field to the north are also visible, possibly boundaries of broadly contemporary date, perhaps associated with this enclosure or a second enclosure, also in the field to the north, recorded under MDO32413.

ST 6173 1563 (FCE) A rapid examination of air photography suggests the presence of a rectangular enclosure, of Unknown date, visible as a cropmark northeast of Silverlake Farm. <1>

The enclosure is visible on aerial photographs taken in June 2015 (HEA 2015). Additional linear ditched features in the field to the north are also visible, possibly boundaries of broadly contemporary date, perhaps associated with this enclosure or a second enclosure, also in the field to the north, recorded under MDO32413.
