Full Description

A bronze annular armlet labelled "British armlet near Woolland, at the head of Locket's Stream, on the bank, about 1891". It is uncorroded and of a curious blackish colour with patches of bright gold like gilding. It lacks ornament but has a gradual taper from 6/16th (9.52mm) to 3/16th (4.76mm) of an inch in the metal. Its outside diameter is 3 1/8 inches (7.93cm). In Dorset County Museum Acc. B.R. 60. <1>

The main part of Locket's Stream rises at ST 76720612 and another un-named part at ST 76940649 and between these points are several springs which flow into the stream. I would not be prepared to say - except to this general area - where the head of the stream is (a).

No further information was obtained upon this find during field investigation. <2>
