Monument record MDO43256 - Mound, Hermitage and Holnest

Please read our .

Summary

An irregular mound on the parish boundary between Hermitage and Holnest and near a field called Barrow Field has been considered as a possible Bronze Age round barrow. Evidence of small-scale surface quarrying in the vicinity, however, makes it possibly more likely that this is a spoil heap of relatively recent date.
