Summary

Banked and ditched linear features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken to the west of Frome St Quintin. The features are considered to be historic field boundaries and lynchets of medieval or later date, possibly including part of a former medival strip field. They were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

Full Description

Banked and ditched linear features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken to the west of Frome St Quintin [1-3]. The features are considered to be historic field boundaries and lynchets comprising a medieval field system and strip field system and were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project. Many of the features remain visible on current Google Earth imagery [4].
