Full Description
A sub-rectangular banked and ditched enclosure is visible as an earthwork on a 1948 aerial photograph taken to the west of Burl Farm, Evershot [1]. The banked earthwork measures approximately 20m by 9.8 m and has a surrounding 0.6m wide outer ditch. The feature is of uncertain date but a medieval or later origin is thought most likely; possibly an animal pound. It was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project. IT is no longer visible on Google Earth imagery.
