Full Description
An old gravel pit is recorded to the southeast of Frome St Quinton on the OS 1st Edition map (1). The feature is visible as an irregular scarped earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs where it measures approximately 63m long by 35m deep. It is situated on the south side of a historic trackway. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project (2).
The feature is still visible on Google Earth imagery.
