Full Description
Three sub-circular ditched features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs to the east of Ayles's Hill, Sydling St Nicholas (1). The features comprise a row of three pits between 18m and 20m across, positioned against a historic field boundary to the north, with one of the pits abutting a historic field boundary to the east. They may be post medieval extractive pits and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
