Full Description
Narrow linear banked features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on Crofts Down, Sydling St Nicholas (1-3). The features comprise narrow banks that form regular rectilinear enclosures on a broadly SE-NW axis. They appear to overlie an earlier prehistoric field system (MDO2625) and may be historic field boundaries of possible post medieval date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The features are still visible on 2002 Google Earth imagery (4).
