Full Description
A linear banked and ditched feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs on the south side of Long Ash Lane, Frome St Quintin (1, 2). The feature runs relatively straight for approximately 135m from east to west across the extent of a historic field and continues towards a pond and possible water channel (MDO43070) located closely adjacent to the east, within the neighbouring field. It may also be a water channel of possibly post medieval to modern date. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is still partially visible as an earthwork on 2002 Google Earth imagery but a large modern overflow basin now occupies its western end (3).
