Full Description
Banked linear and curvilinear features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs within and to the west of Frome Park Coppice, Frome St Quintin. The features are thought likely to be historic field boundaries, possibly of medieval date, although a later origin is also possible. The features are within the confines of a former medieval deer park (MDO1192) and may be associated with this feature, or its later divisions and use. The north eastern end of the longest linear bank, on a SW-NE axis, corresponds with a break in Frome Park Coppice and the south western end of a medieval drove road (MDO 1200; MDO43069).
The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project. The majority are still visible as earthworks on Google Earth imagery.
