Summary

Sub circular ditched and scarped features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs on Bazon Hill, Up Cerne. The larger features are recorded as old chalk pits on the OS 1st Edition map. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description

Sub circular ditched and scarped features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs on Bazon Hill, Up Cerne (1). The larger features are recorded as old chalk pits on the OS 1st Edition map (2). They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Some features are under trees and barely visible on current Google Earth imagery. Others are still visibler as earthworks and cropmarks.
