Full Description
Banked linear and curvilinear features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs in fields to the south of Flowers Farm, Hillfield (1). The features comprise low narrow banks located within historic fields on an E-W axis, which aligns on the adjacent historic field pattern. They may be field boundaries of possible medieval to post medieval date, although an earlier, prehistoric - Iron Age/Romano-British - origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
