A sub-rectangular pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs to the west of Sydling St Nicholas. The feature may be a post medieval chalk pit (1). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project. The feature is no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
