Full Description
A regular banked linear feature is visible as an earthworks on 1940s aerial photograps to the west of Hyde Cliff Plantation, Frampton (1). The feature is a straight narrow regular banked linear that runs near parallel to a historic field boundary on its east side. It appears to overlie broader linear earthworks (MDO42847) visible on current Lidar imagery that may have a late prehistoric origin.
The feature may be a historic field boundary of possible medieval to post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
