Full Description
A large sub-circular pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs on Farm Field Bottom, Sydling St Nicholas (1). The feature is recorded as Hill Pit on the OS 1st Edition map (2) and is probably a post medieval chalk pit. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is still visible as a cropmarks on current Google Earth imagery (3).
