Full Description
Multiple groups of sub-circular pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs on East Field Hill and Farm Field Bottom, Sydling St Nicholas (1-3). The features are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
Many of the features are still visible as earthworks and cropmarks on 2010 Google Earth imagery (4).
