Full Description
A group of possible sub-circular pits are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs on Shearplace Hill, Sydling St Nicholas (1). The features are situated within an enclosure on the south side of a Middle to Late Bronze Age settlement enclosure (MDO42392). They may be anomalous features associated with this but may alternatively be post medieval chalk pits, or the result of natural geological variation. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
