Full Description

A large sub-circular pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery on Shearplace Hill, Sydling St Nicholas (1, 2). The feature is recorded as a chalk pit on the OS 1st Edition map. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

The feature is still visible on current Google Earth imagery.
