Summary

A banked linear feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs on South Field Hill, Sydling St Nicholas. The feature appears to overlie older banks associated with an Iron Age/RB field system (MDO42911) and may be a field boundary of medieval to post medieval date. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description

A banked linear feature is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs on South Field Hill, Sydling St Nicholas (1). The feature appears to overlie older banks associated with an Iron Age/RB field system (MDO42911) and is aligned north-south on the same axis as the historic field pattern. It may be a field boundary of medieval to post medieval date. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
The feature is no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
