Full Description

An area of ridged and ditched cultivation is visible as cropmarks on 1940s aerial photographs to the west of South Field Barn, Sydling St Nicholas (1). The features occupy the northwest corner of a historic field whose curvilinear boundaries indicate a possible medieval origin. The features may be those of medieval ridge and furrow and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
