Full Description
A low oval mound is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery on Grimstone Down, Stratton (1, 2). The feature is visible as a low indistinct mound of elongated oval form, approximately 13.4m long by 9m wide.
The feature may be that recorded as a possible Bronze Age round barrow (NHRE Hob UID 1457326), although the NRHE entry locates this slightly to the north at SY 64230 95390. A barrow at this location is designated as a Scheduled Monument (103771).

One of a group of round barrows on Grimstone Down:- Barrow 'A' - SY 64239539. (Not listed by RCHM or Grinsell see Authy 4). (Sited from settlement plan with SY 69 NW 38). (2-3)
Barrow 'A' - SY 64239539. A ditchless mound apparently undisturbed measuring 9 metres in diameter east-west by 5 metres north-south and 1 metre high at the west and merging into ground level on the east. (4)
The barrow is generally as described by Authority (4) . It now measures 10 metres by 6 metres and is 0.8 metres high, and is a possible barrow of simple elongated form.
