Full Description
A type 23 pillbox; standard construction of concrete and brick with 4 embrasures. Covered by a large amount of vegetation.By the railway crossing at Crockway Farm. The pillbox was described as in good condition in 1997. <1-3>
A rectangular Type 23 Second World War pillbox is visible as an extant structure on 1940s aerial photographs <4> alongside a railway crossing to the northeast of Crockway Farm, Maiden Newton, and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
