Summary

Linear banked and ditched features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery in fields to the west of Hyde Farm, Frampton. They are considered likely to be historic field boundaries and lynchets of potentially medieval to post medieval date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

Full Description

Linear banked and ditched features are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery in fields to the west of Hyde Farm, Frampton (1). They are considered likely to be historic field boundaries and lynchets of potentially medieval to post medieval date. Some of the features may be associated with areas of medieval ridge and furrow (MDO42820; MDO42821).

Some of the features are still visible on vurrent Google Earth imagery.
The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.
