A possible post medieval chalk pit is visible as an earthwork on current Lidar imagery to the southwest of Notton Farm, Maiden Newton, and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project (1). The feature is recorded as a scrub filled enclosure on the OS 1st Edition 1:2500 map (2).
