Summary

The Pillbox Study Group note a complex of irregular defensive and supply trenches in this area, set amidst the denuded earthwork remains of medieval lynchets on the east side of the River Bride at Burton Freshwater. The trenches are clearly visible on RAF vertical aerial photographs dated March 1948.

Full Description

These trenches all lie within the National Trust Burton Bradstock estate and are also recorded by the NTSMR, None are now visible on the ground and all have been infilled.
