Summary

The Pillbox Study Group note the site of a probable Second World War roadblock on what was formerly part of Junction Road west of its intersection with the B3068 Wimborne Road The roadblock is inferred from RAF aerial photographs dated January 1947, and may relate to a line of concrete anti-tank blocks to the east, and to a large irregular drain and/or anti-tank ditch across open heath to the west.

The roadblock has been removed and its environs extensively re-modelled to remove the former eastern end of Junction Road and form Goathorn Close.
