Summary

Field boundaries of potentially Iron Age/Romano-British date are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs to the north of Daw's Hill, Wraxall. They are considered to be part of a wider celtic field system (NRHE Hob UID 882550) and were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

Full Description

There are Celtic fields on Daw's Hill ST 570002, in two parts: a) North side of the hill at 500-600 feet OD, seceral rectilinear planned banks under pasture and poorly preserved. b) On the South side of the hill, and part of the same complex represented by a long lynchet bank following the contour and several short banks. <1>
