Full Description

An extensive medieval field system is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 in fields to the north of Holywell, Melbury Bubb [1]. The system covers an area of 30 hectares and is associated with ridge and furrow cultivation marks. The site was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project and has since been plough-levelled.
