Summary

An 'Old Chalk Pit' is marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map to the west of Rampisham. It is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

Full Description

An 'Old Chalk Pit' is marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map to the west of Rampisham [1]. It is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 [1] and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project. Two further pits are located to the south which were not marked by the OS.
