Monument record MDO42313 - Medieval strip fields, Wynford Eagle

Parallel scarps and banks are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the south of St Lawrence's Church, Wynford Eagle. The features cover an area of 3 hectares and are considered likely to be the remains of medieval strip fields associated with the medieval settlement. The features were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

SY 583959: Earthworks have been reported on the east side of Wynford Eagle (SY 582960 - SY 583959). Comprise several close banks, under grass and in good condition, covering over 12 acres. <1-2>
