An 'Old Chalk Pit' is marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map on North Hill, Chilcombe [1]. It is one of wide scatter of hollows visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project [2-3].
