Full Description
Two old chalk pits are marked on the 1st edition 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map to the southwest of Wynford Farm, Wynford Eagle [1]. They are part of a group of low hollows which are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and lie in an area of 'bumpy ground' which may be the result of more widespread extraction [2]. The features were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.
