Full Description

Construction dump materials of road bedding layers found in trenches dug alongside current Poole road. The dump materials consisted clays and silts with modern inclusions and the road bedding layer is a silty clay with brick and charcoal inclusions.

Evidence of road building and repair in the mid to late 19th century (Early Modern Period) comes from trenches dug as part of the Wimborne Minster Floof Alleviation Scheme.
